Recently, International Center for Optical Research and Education，iCORE , was officially opened in Xi’an Technological University.

The iCORE, as the first international center on optical research and education, according to needs of national science & technology development and economic construction, through the close cooperation and exchanges with the famous optical center, to develop the optical professional discipline and promote the optical education and academic exchange.

On the afternoon of 11th May, 2018, in the west hall of library of Xi’an Technological University, Prof. Weiguo Liu, from Xi’an Technological University, Prof. James C. Wyant, from University of Arizona, USA, Prof. Mitsuo Takeda, from Utsunomiya University, Japan, Prof. Malgorzata Kujawinska from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, Prof.Gerd Häusler, from University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, Prof. Emeritus Steen Grüner Hanson, from technological university of Denmark, Denmark, Prof. Tatiana Alieva, from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain and Prof. Wei Wang from Xian Technological University, Heriot-Watt university, England, unveiled theInternational Center for Optical Research and Education. Prof. Weiguo Liu delivered speech on behalf of Xian Technological University and Prof. James Wyant, on behalf of international guests, gave a speech.

The establishment of iCORE will play an important role on the development of the optical technology in China. It will offer more approaches to carry out the international cooperation projects and be positive to the development of optical engineering discipline.
