Research Profile

Weiguo Liu, Professor, the chairman of the university community of Xi’an technological university.

Prof. Liu was engaged in cooperative research and teaching at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from 1999 to 2003. His research focus on optics and optoelectronics manufacturing technology which introduced ion beam technology into the field of optical thin film manufacturing and first applied pulsed plasma and unbalanced magnetron sputtering technology to the manufacturing of diamond-like optical films in China. His team works on the research of the super smooth optical surface magnetic rheological polishing, plasma polishing, ion beam deposition correction polishing technology, the super smooth optical surface ultra low loss testing and high resolution interferometry technology; They have successfully developed two types of integrated uncooled thermal imaging detector and system, pyroelectricity and radiometer.

Professor Liu has secured and solely managed a number of important projects, such as the Key Program of National Natural Science Funding, The International Cooperation Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology，Key Laboratory Project of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Department，Basic Research Projects for National Defense and so on.

More than 100 papers have been published in journals or conferences and 52 patents for invention were filed or authorized. He has been selected as a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions by Shaanxi province twice, and is identified as "top talents in key areas" in Shaanxi province.

He has won First Class Prize of National Defense Science and Technology Progress Award, Second Class Prize of The State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, The first prize of weapon science and technology invention and the second class prize of shaanxi science and technology progress award two times.
