iCORE Visited Poland to Attend Speckle 2018
Recently, professor Liu weiguo led a delegation to visit Poland to attend the 7th international conference on Speckle Metrology (Speckle 2018), and won the bid to host the next international Speckle survey academic conference. Professor Tian ailing and professor wang wei visited with the delegation.
More than 500 scientists, engineers and students from over 20 countries participated in the conference. Professor Takeda was invited to give an invitation report entitled "Noise inspired research-a journey through speckle driven years".In this paper, the significance of speckle in the field of measurement and imaging and some recent progress are comprehensively reviewed from the perspective of the historical development of speckle research. Dr. Wang wei delivered a special report entitled "Generation and spatial-temporal evolution of polarization speckle", introduced a new speckle pattern called polarization speckle, its Generation, spatial-temporal evolution and possible application.
At the meeting, director liu weiguo delivered a speech on behalf of the school. To introduce the development of the school's optical engineering discipline and the bidding work for the next conference, the committee of experts voted unanimously and agreed that the eighth international conference on speckle measurement will be held by Xi 'an Technological University in 2021.This marks the first time that this highly prestigious academic event will be held in Asia.At present, it has reached consensus with China optics society, international society of optical engineering, American optics society, Singapore optics society, Japanese optics
society and Korean optics society.We have the honor to invite professor Joseph w. Goodman of Stanford university, academician of the American academy of science and art, academician of the American academy of engineering, and distinguished leader of international information optics and statistical optics to serve as Honorary President of the conference.
During the meeting, as the first overseas exchange activity since iCORE was inaugurated, We conducted friendly exchanges with the Japan optical society, the optical research center of utsunomiya university and education center, and reached consensus on scientific research, talent cultivation and academic exchanges.At the same time, We exchanged views with professor Malgorzata Kujawinska, the chairman of this session, on the preparations for the next session.
